New Canaan is destroyed, scattering many Canaanites across the Utah wasteland.

The Courier is ambushed, and shot in the head, but manages to survive.

The Courier manages to retrieve the platinum chip, having killed Benny in his penthouse.

The Pitt begins trade with the Brotherhood of Steel, supplying great amounts of refined metals, Ashur runs a "War game" seeming to simulate an attempted brotherhood assault on The Pitt.

The Courier goes with the Happy Trails expedition trip, assisting the Sorrows, and Dead Horses in their war, the white legs ultimately retreat back to the great salt lake, the 80s tribe ultimately over run the white legs, destroying much of their tribe.
The Sorrows learned that Retribution could be tempered by mercy, the Dead Horses return to Dead Horse point, as the years went on periodic small tribal wars erupted, and the New Canaanites would intervene as mediators, finding it increasingly difficult to lessen the conflicts.
The Dead Horses fought back the 80s tribe, opening trade routes through highway 50, Happy Trails Caravan Company sets up new locations along highway 50.

Small divisions of Enclave Forces are spotted across the wasteland, reports of Enclave Forces are pursued zealously by the Brotherhood of Steel, but very rarely are any enclave units caught, or killed.

Unrest grew in Freeside and Outer Vegas, which would eventually become full-scale rebellion, many rebels are captured by the NCR, and imprisoned within the Lucky 38.
_________________________________________________________________
2282, The Fall.
The Pitt forms it's own mercenary company, utilizing makeshift power armor manufactured with The Pitt, as well as refined, and improved weaponry, the "Mill Mutts" become almost as feared as the Talon Company.

Under the guidance of Lee Oliver the NCR begin to ramp up operations within the Mojave, utilizing the 33rd Infantry.

The NCR discover the Sierra Madre, taking large samples of Cloud dust, as well as 'deceased' ghost people.

Inhumane experiments are conducted on captured rebels within the Lucky 38, any dissident that is captured, and brought in are never seen again.

As the sand storm struck the mojave a disgruntled scientist sabotaged the massive cloud containment units, as the cloud dust spread across the strip, The peak of the rebellion erupted, engulfing all of Vegas in riots, and chaos, NCR troopers chose to execute anyone in sight, innocent citizens, and rioters alike, The Kings tried to evacuate as many people as they could, with the assistance of the Followers of the Apocalypse, the NCR began to flood the sewers with radioactive waste, stomping out any potential rebel survivors, their final action near the strip was blocking off the gates, locking any survivors inside.
The NCR troopers piled into the strip's monorails, evacuating the area.

Whole settlements and towns were evacuated or otherwise destroyed. One settlement in particular, Goodsprings, was struck by an unknown form of plague, killing most of its residents and turning the once-prosperous community into a ghost town.

Other areas, such as Boulder City, attempted to protect themselves with the same suits worn by Ghost people in Vegas and the Sierra Madre, ultimately becoming trapped themselves.

The Followers of The Apocalypse tried to hide, and return to rescue as many people as they possibly could, they saw many of their associates flee, only considering their own lives.

As predicted by Ulysses, the Tunnelers from the Divide eventually burrowed through to the Mojave Wasteland, causing even more death and destruction. The dust storms blotted out the Sun, allowing the Tunnelers to hunt by day, and night. Killing off most of the native animal population in the Mojave.

The ultimate effects of the Fall would spread as far out as Zion Valley, where spore carriers from Vault 22 ran wild, alongside another strange, terrible creature.

Titus Vitellius Augustus is elected Dictator, and begins his reign over the Legion a splinter faction within calling themselves the "Julian Praetorii" break off from the Legion, staying true to Caesar's doctrine.

Upon Lee Oliver's return to the NCR, he's put on trial for crimes against humanity, and is stripped of his rank, and executed.
The 33rd infantry remains in the Mojave, protecting 'NCR' resources.

Arthur Maxson begins to recant Elder Lyon's initiatives, making protecting wastelanders less important than recovering technology, successfully causing the Outcasts to rejoin with the brotherhood itself, though despite this order he maintains a caring, and protecting nature for wastelanders, he explicitly ordered that all technology was to be traded for food and medicine, and violent confrontation was to be a last resort.

Titus Augustus makes changes to the Legion's laws, and conduct, and begins to move toward diplomacy, while maintaining a vast army, slowly conquering opponents of the legion east-ward, sending scouts into the north.

Within the legion's borders coups are attempted rarely, but often fail, those who perpetrate the coup are swiftly made examples of.

Vaults

This list will contain vaults that are hard canon for the server, any vaults that aren't listed may be custom written for your applications, or your application can involve the vaults on this page so long as it's logical.
For this server, there will be 200 vaults, to promote creativity.

Vault 3, Las Vegas, Nevada. A control vault designed to open after 20 years, but kept closed longer due to the wishes of the vault inhabitants. However, an unplanned water leak forced the occupants to open in hopes of trading with the outside. Unfortunately, all of the vault's residents were massacred by a group of raiders known as the Fiends shortly after they opened the vault door.

Vault 4, Wyoming, A virology, and production vault, designed to test vaccines, infections, and diseases on the inhabitants, though the vault was under-staffed to perform the experiment. the vault was equipt with machinery to manufacture pharmaceuticals, and a climate controlled virology department, filled with almost every disease known to man, and the proper instruments to create vaccines for them.

Vault 8, Vault City, Northern Nevada. A control vault, intended to open and recolonize the surface after 10 years and is equipped with a GECK. Vault City is the result.

Vault 11 South East of Las Vegas, Nevada. This vault was a social experiment testing human nature - most specifically the ability to sacrifice oneself for others, and the ability to place ideals above one's own life.

Vault 12, Necropolis(Formerly Bakersfield), California. In order to study the effects of radiation on the selected population, the vault door was designed not to close properly. This is the Necropolis vault and a large population of ghouls was the result.

Vault 13, Mt. Whitney, California. Intended to stay closed for 200 years as a study of prolonged isolation, the broken water chip forced Overseer Jacoren to improvise and use the Vault Dweller as a pawn. Later study of the Vault 13 records by the Enclave led them to their current plan to end the war.

Vault 15, Southern California. Intended to stay closed for 50 years and include people of radically diverse ideologies. Vault 15 is also the birthplace of three raider groups, the Khans, Jackals, and Vipers, and Shady Sands, which would become the New California Republic.

Vault 17, Location Unknown. The vault was raided in 2154 and its inhabitants taken prisoner by the Master's Army. They were subsequently turned into super mutants. It is unknown what this vault's experiment was, or if it was one of the seventeen control vaults.

Vault 19, Red Rock Canyon. Nevada, The vault was segregated into two groups, Red and Blue. The groups lived in separate sections of the vault and the inhabitants may have been chosen due to pre-existing paranoia.

Vault 21, Las Vegas, Nevada. This vault's purpose was gambling, reinforced by having only compulsive gamblers admitted as vault residents and with all conflicts within the vault to be resolved through gambling. It is one of the few non-control vaults that didn't end in failure. When opened, its residents successfully integrated into the societies around them, and the lower levels of the vault were collapsed by Robert House..

Vault 22, West of Las Vegas, Nevada. Apparently a vault designed to develop advanced agricultural technologies. Successful experiments were executed, creating strains of plants that could grow under artificial light. However, an experiment on pest control involving a genetically-manufactured spore annihilated or transformed the vault's inhabitants.

Vault 27, Unknown. This vault would be overcrowded deliberately. 2000 people would be assigned to enter, double the total sustainable amount.

Vault 29, colorado. No one in this vault was over the age of 15 when they entered. Parents were intentionally redirected to other vaults. Harold is believed to have come from this vault.

Vault 34, East of Las Vegas, Nevada. The armory was overstocked with weapons and ammunition and not provided with a lock. The Boomers, the weapon-crazy inhabitants of Nellis Air Force Base, descend from the inhabitants of this vault.

Vault 36, Unknown. The food extruders were designed to produce only a thin, watery gruel.

Vault 42, Unknown. No light bulbs of more than 40 watts were provided.

Vault 43, Unknown. Populated by twenty men, ten women, and one panther.

Vault 53, Unknown. Most of the equipment was designed to break down every few months. While repairable, the breakdowns were intended to stress the inhabitants unduly.

Vault 55, Unknown. All entertainment tapes were removed.

Vault 56, Unknown. All entertainment tapes were removed except those of one particularly bad comic actor. Sociologists predicted failure before Vault 55.

Vault 69, Unknown. This vault had one thousand people maximum, nine hundred and ninety nine women and one man.

Vault 70, Unknown. All jumpsuit extruders fail after 6 months. Most of the inhabitants were Mormons. The city of New Canaan was founded by the vault dwellers after they left the vault.

Vault 75, Malden, The Commonwealth. Excluding vault staff, all residents were under the age of 18 at the time of vault activation; parents were quietly separated from their children and later executed by vault security. The experiment went well for several generations, but the archives were destroyed and most if not all of the progress made was lost.

Vault 76, Capital Wasteland. This vault was designed as a control group for the vault experiment. Like Vault 3 and Vault 8, it was intended to open and re-colonize the surface after 20 years. Vault 76 was unveiled by Vault-Tec in 2076 in celebration of the United States' tercentenary.

Vault 77, Unknown. Populated by one man and a crate full of puppets. The Lone Inhabitant of the vault went insane from lack of human contact and eventually abandoned the vault after "murdering" one of the puppets.

Vault 81, Boston, The Commonwealth. Intended to develop a single cure for all human diseases through testing on unaware human subjects. The vault had two sections: the residents lived in one section, while Vault-Tec scientists secretly observed them and worked in the other. Unexpectedly, the original overseer disabled the equipment the scientists were to use to expose the residents to diseases. As of 2287, the vault's residents are alive and well, and regularly trade with the outside world.

Vault 87, Capital Wasteland. A Forced Evolutionary Virus research and testing facility.

Vault 88, Boston, The Commonwealth. Intended to test various prototype devices with the aim of rolling them out to the rest of the vaults; the experiment was scrapped by the Overseer, and the vault ultimately became a production plant, used to create armor, weapons, and ammunition.

Vault 92, Near Old Olney, Capital Wasteland. Populated largely by renowned musicians, this vault was a test bed for a white noise-based system for implanting combat-oriented posthypnotic suggestions.

Vault 100, Near Detroit. Designed to create the "Perfect Human" the experiment went well until a rebellion broke out in 2278. The experiment succeeded to a degree, creating very intelligent, strong, and resilient human beings, but Vault officials were ultimately overthrown, and violently executed, the remaining inhabitants of the vault are the experiments.

Vault 101, Capital Wasteland. Evaluation of performance of an omnipotent, dictatorial overseer in a closed community. This vault was intended to never open.

Vault 106, Capital Wasteland. Psychoactive drugs were released into the air filtration system 10 days after the door was sealed.

Vault 108, Capital Wasteland. The vault houses a cloning lab and all (surviving) residents are clones of one man called Gary.

Vault 111, Sanctuary Hills, The Commonwealth. Tested the long-term effects of cryogenic suspension on unaware individuals. The vault's staff were assigned to observe the residents and protect the vault for 180 days. Dwindling supplies drove the security personnel to mutiny against the scientists and leave. Over a century after activation, a mercenary broke into the vault in order to kidnap an infant resident. In the process, he killed all but one of the vault's frozen residents.

Vault 112, Capital Wasteland. All residents were placed in suspended animation and connected to a virtual reality simulator, where they thought they would live a "perfect" virtual life indefinitely. Unfortunately, Dr. Stanislaus Braun held absolute control of the simulation and used it to torture the residents for his own pleasure.

Vault 114, Boston, The Commonwealth. Intended to test the stress of living in impoverished, disenfranchised conditions by those previously accustomed to extreme wealth and power. Residents were to be exclusively politicians and Boston's wealthy elite, with the exception of the overseer.

Vault 118, Mount Desert Island, Maine. The vault was intended to encompass two wings under one overseer, each one to house exclusively members of the highest class of society (Hollywood actors, business tycoons, scientists, artists, etc.) or the lower classes.

Lore, and Factions. Empty
PostSubject: Re: Lore, and Factions.   Lore, and Factions. Icon_minitimeSat Aug 06, 2016 9:54 am

Factions
The New California Republic
a large, democratic federation of 700,000 based in California, with holdings in Nevada, Oregon, Mexico (Baja California) and along the Colorado River. The NCR emphasizes and claims to support a myriad of old world values, such as democracy, personal liberty, and the rule of law. It also strives to restore general order to the wasteland, the improvement and development of infrastructure and economic systems, and a basic common peace between the people. Though appearing to be a benevolent entity of governance, the ability to control the land it claims to protect, the fidelity of those who live under their rule, and the widespread corruption within their political system has been questioned by many, without a clear response by the NCR themselves.

The New Legion
an autocratic, traditionalist, totalitarian slaver society, based on the ancient Roman Empire. Its legionaries are a well organized, culturally insular fighting force that mainly operate east of the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon, in the former state of Arizona. Ever pushing east, their capital is the city of Flagstaff. Originally founded by Edward Sallow, after his death the successive leader chose to take the legion in a different direction, attempting to be diplomatic, and avoid the expansionism that killed their historic counter part. The Legion is comprised mostly of reconditioned tribes and their descendants, though in recent years tribe assimilation has gone down, as their birth rate has sky rocketed.

Tribes
Tribals are generally groups with a primitive age lifestyle (although some exceptions exist), with their own beliefs, culture, customs and sometimes with their own language. Their identity is determined by culture and lineage rather than by geography. Only humans have seem to become tribal. Tattoos are common as one of their traditions, generally used to signify honors, victories or status more than just decoration. Many tribal cultures include the domestication of dogs.

The Section
A splinter faction from the Followers of the Apocalypse, the survivors of "The Fall" in the mojave, when members of The Section discovered Vault 2, they had found a new purpose. Vault 2, having originally been designed to perform experiments with diseases, infections, and vaccinations, the newly formed Section put the vault to use in designing vaccines for the wasteland, as well as producing new pharmaceuticals, though very few know of The Section, due to their secretive nature.

The Great Roaches
When a tough as nail gang crawled out of the ruins of Kansas City, the saw the nuclear blasted hellscape and saw two opportunities.. Raiding, and Pillaging. they tormented survivors from Kansas, to as far as Washington, through the years they eventually found themselves settling around the old Devil's Tower in Wyoming, they bolstered their ranks through slavery, and even managed to ambush a few NCR supply caravans over the years, finding themselves quite the arsenal. they continue to thrive through threatening nearby communities, acting like a form of twisted land lord.
